The Sunshine Coast runs from coastal suburbs to the hinterland. Coastal salt air and hinterland slopes are the two things to think about.

Coastal suburbs and newer estates lean towards Colorbond, while hinterland towns and acreage have more timber and longer boundary runs.

South East Queensland's summer storms bring heavy rain and strong gusts. Good post footings and drainage along the fence line matter.
Near the water, ask the fencer about coastal-grade fixings and finishes. Salt air is hard on standard ones.
In Queensland, many residential fences up to 2 m high don't need building approval, but there are exceptions (pool fences, fences that also retain soil, heritage areas and some estates). Check with your council if you're unsure.
Fences between neighbours are covered by Queensland's dividing fences laws. It's worth talking to your neighbour before work starts.
Pool fences have their own safety laws. This estimator doesn't cover pool fencing.
